WHS Induction: Infection Control

Employees across various industries face the potential of contracting contagious illnesses while performing their duties. These illnesses stem from microorganisms like bacteria, viruses, and fungi infiltrating or affixing themselves to the body. Effective infection control relies on the adoption of sound hygiene practices and the implementation of risk management tactics. This Infection Control induction module serves as a valuable resource to remind workers about safeguarding against infections while on the job. Once the course is completed, you will have learnt about the mechanisms by which infections can spread, the appropriate course of action if contact with bodily fluids has been made, and some risk management measures that can be implemented to reduce the risk of exposure to, and the transmission of, infection. This course is one part of a 50 part WHS Induction series aimed at new inductees and existing workers.
