What a Lunch and Learn is Not

Lunch and learn sessions are a great way to have fun while learning. They’re also known as lunchtime lectures or brown-bag seminars, depending on the topic of discussion. Regardless of what you call them, these events provide an educational opportunity for employees during their hour break from work each day. Lunch and learn is can be about any subject that is relevant in the workplace–from marketing trends to healthcare topics such as new treatments for cancer patients who’ll need a bone marrow transplant at some point in their life. Lunch and learn can include a guest speaker, presentation by one’s coworkers, discussion with other employees from different departments, or anything else you come up with! The idea behind it is to break the routine in your day to eat and learn something new for an hour.
