Understanding Harassment: 01. Introduction to Understanding Harassment

As the introduction to our series on stopping harassment in the workplace, the Understanding Harassment: 01. Introduction to Understanding Harassment course provides an overview on sexual harassment and how it can effect you, your company and the targets of harassment. In this course, we’ll start by dispelling preconceived notions about sexual harassment and provide statistics on sexual harassment in today’s workplaces. From there, we will define the three main roles in sexual harassment - offender, target and bystander - and discuss the reporting requirements if you witness harassment at work. We will also go over the contributing factors related to workplace harassment, the negative impact harassment can have on those who are targeted and talk about how to create a culture of prevention at your company. This course includes a video presentation, downloadable supplementary material for future reference and a short quiz to assess your knowledge.
