Diversity is the inclusion of a wide variety of people of different races or cultures in a group or organization. Every employer and employee must have an understanding of the concepts of diversity. It refers to the variety of individual differences among people within a group or society that can be identified by race, nationality, ethnicity, or gender. Diversity also refers to the range of ways in which people are different from one another - their opinions on issues; how they live; their life experiences; what they believe and value - while exclusionism opposes diversity as such forms difference that may lead to prejudice against those who do not share certain characteristics (such as culture).
