Understanding Bloodborne Pathogens: 03. Bloodborne Pathogens and the Needlestick Safety and Prevention Act

Our course, Understanding Bloodborne Pathogens: 03. Bloodborne Pathogens and the Needlestick Safety and Prevention Act, reviews the laws employers have to abide by to ensure their employees are protected from contracting bloodborne pathogens from needles and other sharp objects. In this course, we’ll start by reviewing which workplaces may come in contact with needles and other sharps and go over the types of infections workers may be exposed to. From there, we’ll talk about the work practices and controls that must be in place to prevent contamination according to the Needle Stick Safety and Prevent Act and OSHA regulations.
