The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (An Overview)

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) is a federal anti-discrimination law that covers employers, including state and local governments, with 15 or more employees. Under the PWFA, employers must make ‚Äúreasonable accommodations” to a worker’s known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, unless the accommodation will cause the employer an ‚Äúundue hardship.”
