Supporting LGBTQ+ Coworkers: 02. Understanding Pronouns

In our LGBTQ in the Workplace: 01. Understanding Pronouns course, we will discuss pronouns and how they relate to gender identity. We use pronouns all the time in casual conversation to identify people. But when it comes to gender identity, these pronouns can be difficult to navigate. In this elearning course, we begin by defining and explaining how to use pronouns in a general sense. Next, we explore how pronouns relate to gender identity and discuss gender-neutral pronouns. We will also explain how to politely and respectfully determine someone’s preferred pronouns and what to do if you accidentally use the wrong pronouns, so you can maintain an inclusive and considerate workplace culture. This course includes a video presentation, downloadable student material for future reference, and finishes with a quiz to test your knowledge.
