Safety in Healthcare: Sharps Safety

Healthcare staff are at risk of incurring a sharps injury which can expose them to blood borne infectious agents such as hepatitis B, C and HIV. This Sharps Safety course aims to educate participants on the proper handling, use, and disposal of sharps, emphasing the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE), and preventive measures to reduce the incidence of sharps injuries. Once the course is completed, you will have learnt rules for proper sharps handling, the importance of correct PPE selection, and various sharps injury prevention measures. This course is one part of our 20 part “Safety in Healthcare” series aimed exclusively at healthcare workers.
