Ramadan is one of the most significant holidays in Islam. It commemorates the prophet Muhammed receiving his initial revelations from God and writing the Quran. With about 1.9 billion Muslims in the world, it’s an important month to support your Muslim coworkers, neighbors, family members, and friends during their time of fasting. In this course, you’ll get an overview of the significance and origins of Ramadan. You’ll also be introduced to specific Ramadan traditions shared within the Muslim community as well as traditions in countries around the world. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to identify ways to participate in the celebration with respect.
