Awareness and ongoing dialog about harassment and racial discrimination is more important than ever. While preventing such issues are top of mind for all organizations, there are some important considerations to keep in mind for the property management industry. This informative session explores harassment issues in the workplace, sexual harassment dos and don’ts, and unique situations to be aware of in property management. We’ll begin with a review of the laws affecting workplace harassment, and then discuss behavior and culture, retaliation, and how to handle complaints. Additionally, we will discuss domestic violence and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The session will conclude with an examination of the current racial discrimination concerns affecting our assets.
