Office Induction: Drugs and Alcohol

In the interests of health and safety, it is a requirement that all staff come to work in a fit state to perform their tasks safely. Research shows that contrary to the widely accepted stereotype, the vast majority of alcoholics and drug users are not derelicts living on the streets. They are people holding down jobs, often-responsible jobs, in our workforce. This Drugs & Alcohol course explores the risks associated with having a worker affected by alcohol and/or drugs (illicit or prescribed) in the workplace. Once the course is completed, you will have learnt examples of legal and illegal drugs, how to recognise if someone might be affected by drugs or alcohol at work, and how to respond to such a situation. This course is one part of an 18 part Office Induction series aimed at new inductees and existing office workers.
