This course provides a comprehensive exploration of machine hazards, focusing on the lack of awareness and training as key contributors. It delves into the two major mechanical operations—motions and actions—of machines, breaking them down into three fundamental areas of safeguarding: the point of operation, power transmission, and moving parts. Participants will gain insights into early hazard identification by understanding the design, form, and function of machines, emphasizing the need to anticipate potential failures and associated hazards. Additionally, the course highlights non-mechanical hazards, such as flying debris, and emphasizes the importance of machine guards, personal protective equipment, and a safe workplace environment.
