Key Skills for Facilitator

A facilitator is someone who helps a group to collaborate, work effectively, and to learn different ways of thinking about things. The facilitator does not take sides on an issue or share their point of view, since this might sway the results that the group achieves.
One of the most important sets of skills for leaders and members are facilitation skills. These are the “process” skills we use to guide and direct key parts of our organizing work with groups of people such as meetings, planning sessions, and training of our members and leaders.
