International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples

There are about 370 million Indigenous people in over 90 countries, and International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples is a day that recognizes these populations worldwide. Learning about and celebrating cultures different from your own is a way to foster inclusion, empathy, and allyship in both your work environment and community. In this course, you’ll be provided with an overview of the significance and origins of International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. You’ll also be introduced to influential Indigenous people who have fought to protect their communities’ rights. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to identify ways to participate in the observation.
