Five Stages of Supply Chain Management

Firstly, we should know that Supply chain management involves managing the flow of goods. It includes the movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory and finished goods from source to consumption.
Supply management is made up of five areas: supply planning, production planning, inventory planning, capacity planning, and distribution planning. Supply planning determines how best to fulfill the requirements created from the demand plan.
Supply chain managers need an understanding of these stages to effectively plan and to assist with determining critical paths in the operation of a chain’s firm.
