Fighting Systemic Privilege is an audio-only course. Diversity and inclusion are winning values for companies that do it right. But how do you create a diverse community when obstacles like systemic privilege block opportunities for marginalized groups? This course is part of the Let’s Talk White Guys series, a collection of podcasts featuring conversations around racism, sexism, bad behavior, and privilege as a means to expand the “straight White male” perspective on responsibility and necessary change. In this course, you’ll hear from Jamie Winship, a former Washington D.C. police officer; Mike Robbins, an executive coach, author, and motivational speaker; and Tony Schwartz, founder and CEO of The Energy Project. Drawing from their experiences as White men, they discuss what it really takes to push for better opportunities that overturn the unequal footing of systemic privilege. You’ll learn what it takes to weed out discrimination, and how self-sacrifice is the hardest part of acknowledging privilege. You’ll also discover three traits those with privilege in society need to consider in their actions. After this course, you’ll have a better understanding of what it takes to create a more equitable world.
