Explore Privilege and Power at Work

Privilege is an important topic, but it can be complex and difficult to talk about at times. That makes it challenging to identify the parts of our lives where having privilege—or not having it—impacts us most. From our personal lives to the workplace, privilege impacts us in many ways. Many of us experience privilege in some parts of our lives and marginalization in others. This course explores privilege using an image called a Wheel of Power to illustrate the different ways we can be privileged and marginalized due to the different parts of our identities. After you complete the course, you have the opportunity to use the wheel of power to identify your own areas of privilege or marginalization and the impacts they have on you and your work. Learn more about privilege, what it is, where it comes from, and how it impacts you to help you better understand yourself, your colleagues, and your friends and family.
