Encryption Fundamentals

Encryption can be defined as a process of encoding information. This process converts or scrambles the original data into an alternative form, known as ciphertext, which is unreadable to untrusted parties. This property makes encryption a powerful security tool that can prevent the interception of sensitive data, either while stored in files or while in transit across networks.
