Through defining a drug-free workplace, understanding the impacts and costs of substance abuse, and exploring the benefits of implementing a drug-free workplace program, supervisors will gain the knowledge and tools necessary to create safer, healthier, and more productive work environments for their organizations and employees. The course is setup into key areas to accomplish this: Introduction, Drug Free Workplace Policies, Substance Abuse and Addiction, Recognizing Signs and Symptoms, Documenting and Reporting Substance Abuse, Streamlining Communication and Upholding Confidentiality, Reasonable Suspicion Testing, Confronting Employees in Substance Use Situations, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), Return to Work Employee Procedures and Conclusion.
