Dealing with Disruptions

The best way to deal with these situations is to just let them happen. Of course, that’s not always easy. So how do you decide who should talk and when? The key here is understanding the dynamics of your group - skills like listening are important for identifying what people want or need, as well as figuring out what they’re willing/willing-to-give in return for it (e.g., their time).
When a participant continuously interrupts or one person takes up most of the conversation without contributing much else than his own thoughts, try asking clarifying questions about topics he has brought up before getting into detail on other topics and encourage others to contribute more too!
