Customizing Knowledge Management Definitions

Because knowledge management is an emerging field, there are many different definitions for it. The most common definition in the academic setting today describes Knowledge Management as “the process of identifying your organization’s unique body of intangible know-how and developing strategies to manage this information.” Your team needs to identify specific components that will be involved with their project (such as research, documentation, tools) and customize them according to their company or office. In other words, we can say that knowledge management is the systematic management of an organization’s knowledge assets for the purpose of creating value.
