Cryogenic Safety

Cryogenics is the science related to the production and effects of very low temperatures. There is not an official temperature cutoff, but a boiling point below -238 °F (-150 °C) is a common definition for cryogenic liquids (cryogens). Below this temperature, common gases such as helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, oxygen, and methane are all liquids. Working with liquids at these extremely low temperatures poses some obvious hazards. In this course, we will discuss those hazards and how to work safely with cryogenic liquids.
