Creating a Family Leave Policy

In our Creating a Family Leave Policy course, we examine how you can create a Family Leave Policy for your company. Discover the difference between parental and family leave, and the requirements of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). We discuss how to research a policy by reviewing other companies, soliciting advice, surveying employees, and seeking input from the HR or legal departments, as well as how to use that research to develop your own policy. We also cover how to do a cost analysis to determine critical points such as who is eligible for leave, whether it applies to full or part-time employees, and how long people need to be employed before they can benefit from the policy.
