Communication at Work: Chain of Miscommunication

Distorted messages can lead to misinformation and misunderstanding, causing confusion and potential conflict. In organisational settings, critical details can be lost or misinterpreted, leading to poor decision-making and inefficiency. Furthermore, distorted information can damage reputations and relationships, as the inaccuracies often portray a misleading narrative. This Chain of Miscommunication course features two scenarios, one showing what takes place when the communication is ineffective and how the situation can improve when the communication is effective. Once the course is completed, you will have learnt the importance of clear and precise communication, checking for understanding and the use of paraphrasing and asking questions for clarity. This course is one part of a 9 part Communication at Work Series aimed at all staff to enhance communication skills.
