Communication at Work: Avoiding Jargon and Slang

One of the biggest barriers to communication is when speakers and writers assume that the people they are addressing know a great deal more than they actually do. The use of jargon and slang can turn any business relationship into a communication nightmare. This Jargon and Slang course will educate your staff on the various barriers to effective communication when delivering a message and will provide techniques for overcoming these barriers.

Once the course is completed, you will have learnt strategies for building rapport, the importance of explaining jargon and technical terms, and the value in asking questions to clarify meaning. This course is one part of a 9 part Communication at Work Series aimed at all staff to enhance communication skills.
