Our California Anti-Harassment: 06. Investigating Complaints course provides information on how you as a manager should investigate sexual harassment complaints to help ensure your workplace stays in compliance with California laws should harassment occur. In this course, we will start by reviewing investigator qualification requirements based on rules established by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and discuss how to choose an investigator. We’ll also review the four principles that should guide all investigations according to the EEOC and explain how to successfully collect evidence. We will review best practices when it comes to interviewing witnesses and discuss how to effectively conclude an investigation. We will also discuss the importance of objectivity and how to take appropriate action as well as how to protect against retaliation.
