Better Hearing and Speech Month (U.S.)

Did you know that at least 46 million people in the United States have a hearing or other communication disorder? Better Hearing and Speech Month was founded to raise awareness around these disorders. In this course, you’ll get an overview of the significance and origins of Better Hearing and Speech Month. You’ll also be introduced to some influential people who have communication disorders. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to identify ways to participate in the observation. The OpenDoors Celebrations Series builds opportunities to learn about, recognize, and celebrate a diverse range of holidays and observances. These courses help foster and support inclusion, empathy, and allyship in both your work environment and community.
