Control is one of the seven collaborative habits for working effectively in collaborative groups. Because collaborative groups are structured and connected in non-traditional ways, this means that the concept of control holds a very different meaning when working collaboratively. This course is part of the Collaborative Work Pocketbook series, a series that provides tips and techniques to make connections, combine talent and skills, and optimize outcomes during collaboration. In this course, you’ll learn about the impact of dual reporting on collaborative work and how you can reduce your managers’ fears during dual reporting. You’ll also understand how collaborative groups are held accountable for their work. Finally, you’ll be introduced to the sources of influence and how you can use them to influence others in your collaborative group. At the end of this course, you’ll have a better understanding of the role control plays in collaborative work, both as an employee in a collaborative group and as a manager overseeing one.
