Our Back of the House: 06. Food Safety Plans course reviews the legal and safety requirements restaurant owners must abide by in order to keep guests safe from foodborne illnesses and hazards. In this course, we’ll start by reviewing the documents required by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regarding food safety plans and food hazard identification. We’ll review best safety practices when it comes to food shopping, storage and serving. We will also discuss safety guidelines when cooking and preparing food.

Finally, we’ll touch on food allergies and discuss how to handle these concerns in your restaurant. This course includes a video presentation, downloadable student material for future reference and ends with an online quiz to assess your knowledge.
