Coaching leadership is a powerful way to help individuals develop skills and increase their performance. The coach’s role requires the ability to facilitate change in people, coaxing out different ways of thinking or behaving without judgement and fostering learning through enjoyment. Coaches are not there primarily for personal growth but they can be instrumental in helping an individual process thoughts that may have been suppressed from childhood onward and freeing them up for more productive action.
Consequently, coaches should act as guides who support other self-exploration rather than imposing their perspective on others by telling them what they need/should do next.
