WHS Induction: Asbestos

Asbestos has been used in the manufacture of more than 3000 products due to its durability, fire resistance and excellent insulating properties. However exposure to asbestos fibres can cause severe health problems such as asbestosis or cancer, and precautions must be taken when dealing with it. This Asbestos course will highlight essential information about asbestos, its properties and risks. Once the course is completed, you will have learnt the importance of maintaining an asbestos register, what goes in to an asbestos management plan, and the emergency protocols that should be followed. This course is one part of an 50 part WHS Induction series aimed at new inductees and existing workers.
