Manual Handling Healthcare: Catering

Apart from slips trips and falls and exposure to hot or harmful substances, manual handling is the predominant cause of injury in a hospital kitchen. Most jobs involve some form of manual handling, so essentially all workers are at risk no matter how minimal they believe the work to be. This Manual Handling Healthcare Catering course highlights the importance of thinking ahead before moving any sort of load and ensuring that the route is clear, both essential to reducing and eliminating the risk of manual handling injury. Once the course is completed you will have learnt how to safely use a trolley, correct lifting techniques, the importance of planning and communication prior to moving a load and how to prevent slips, trips and falls in the kitchen environment.
