Characteristics of a Servant Leader

A servant leader is someone who has the ability to think, act and speak with integrity. They are trustworthy as they put their priority on service first. Leaders of this kind have a high level of compassion for others’ needs which encourages them to listen well to determine exactly what those needs might be before acting upon them or helping resolve any difficulty that may arise in the team’s work environment. A true servant leader also shows empathy by putting themselves in another person’s shoes; they know how it feels when things don’t go according to plan and can better identify with people’s emotions based on these experiences.
