The manager must be aware that there may be some tension in the room and address it before a spark can ignite. It is important to remain calm at all times as well because if anger or frustration rises up, then this will only make things worse for everyone involved. The employee should feel comfortable with their coworkers present during any interview process so they do not feel singled out or judged unfairly by management.
