Coaching and Managing with Appreciative Inquiry

Appreciative Inquiry is a process of introspection and inquiry which aims to focus on what an individual could be grateful for in their life, rather than focusing on the things that are wrong with it. With this mindset, individuals tend to view themselves more positively and make changes they believe will lead them towards success. Appreciative Inquiry has been found useful as a tool by managers who find themselves struggling with issues such as employee retention or high turnover rates. When deployed alongside coaching intervention strategies (such as providing feedback), employees have seen improved performance at work while experiencing fewer problems working with others at home.
