We will learn about the importance of getting to the cause of incivility, and some tools that can help in understanding the elements behind incivility in your organization.
Workplace incivility has been defined as low-intensity deviant behavior with ambiguous intent to harm the target. Incivility has been shown to decrease co-worker satisfaction.
There are some triggers that can cause incivility, which some of them are a lack of skills in healthy debate, productive political discourse, and constructive disagreement; a feeling that incivility is justified when you have been aggrieved; the existence of a toxic culture encouraging others to get their own way through uncivil methods.
