Controlling Violence in Healthcare

We see it in the news all too often: gun violence in schools, theaters, offices, and other public places. This is undoubtedly the worst type of workplace violence. Assaults and other violent acts are more prevalent and just as disturbing. Verbal abuse is another example of workplace violence and is sometimes the most difficult for caregivers to respond to professionally. We’ll explore and learn more about all these forms of violence in this course.
The goal of this course is to help you recognize and respond to potentially violent situations in your healthcare organization. You’ll learn the risk factors for violence, your responsibilities in those situations, and the steps that can be taken to control violence.
