Regulation B: Equal Credit Opportunity Act – Overview

This course will help you ensure that your bank’s policies are compliant with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, which prevents creditors from discriminating against applicants based on protected characteristics. The course lays out exactly which criteria Regulation B forbids banks from discriminating based on, and explains which notifications you are required by law to give to customers. It teaches you what information you can ask for, when and how special purpose credit programs can be created, how the act encourages banks to employ self-testing and correction, and much more.
The training course uses a mix of text, audio narration and activities to keep the information engaging and easy to absorb. Pop-up windows and test questions are distributed throughout the course to expand upon and check your understanding of the material. Students who pass the final test with a score of 80 percent or higher will receive a Certificate of Completion.
