Assertiveness Toolkit: Part A (GB)

Part A of this toolkit course examines the benefits of taking an assertive approach when dealing with stressful situations or when constructive criticism is warranted. Changes in leadership, deadlines and work responsibilities can all lead to frustration and worry. In this module, you will learn how to adapt an assertive approach to overcome negative feelings and avoid falling into refuge behaviors. The need to temper self-confidence with active listening is discussed, as well as the ABCs of effective assertiveness. You will learn how to prepare and phrase constructive criticism using the 4S method and why taking an assertive approach can help prevent the discussion from becoming personal and confrontational.From this 15-minute video you will learn how to adapt an assertive approach during difficult situations while still remaining open and positive.
