Historian Yuval Noah Harari’s TED Talk ‚ÄúThe actual cost of preventing climate breakdown” proposes that the investment required to avert catastrophe might be much smaller than many fear. He makes the case that we already have the resources we need to combat climate change, and that investing just two percent of global GDP into climate solutions could help to prevent ecological cataclysm. Harari’s talk encourages us to see sustainability and climate change as projects that are still fixable if we adjust our priorities and push for social change and accountability from our government. He also puts the amount of money that would be required into perspective and explains a few places it could be pulled from, if we are able to exert enough pressure on our governments.
