Agile leadership endorses leaders who become the change rather than just being change evangelists. There are two key leadership competencies in agile leadership: walking the talk, and leading by example. Both of these are critical and crucial for leaders today as they are expected to communicate, commit, and collaborate. Good communication leads to self-discovery for both leader and the team which further leads to development of the individual, reflection, and learning. To draw out commitment from the team, the leader engages, inspires, and involves the team. To ensure that the team collaborates, a leader must empower, reward, recognize, and allow the team to come up with fresh ideas on which they could work together.
