How to Be a Terrible Team Member: The Excuse Maker

This course gives you the skills to recognize “The Excuse Maker” - that employee in your organization who always seems to have a reason for not getting work done. Also known as “It’s-Not-My-Fault”, this colleague can erode trust and team morale, making it difficult to function productively. After completing this course you’ll be able to identify that person who puts more work into reasoning why something wasn’t done, than into actually doing it.

This course is part of a series that uses Improv actors to demonstrate the behaviors that damage workplace productivity. In it, the actors take part in a humorous game show skit to demonstrate the lengths “The Excuse Maker” goes to, to cover up poor performance. Once you complete the course quiz with a passing score of 80 percent you’ll receive a certificate of completion.
