Personal Protective Equipment Lab: Respiratory Protection

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of respiratory protection in workplaces where potential exposure to airborne contaminants exceeds occupational exposure limits. Participants will learn the importance of hazard assessments and air monitoring to identify risks and airborne exposures. The course covers the selection and proper fit testing of different respirator types, including surgical masks, N95 respirators, half mask respirators, full face respirators, and escape-only respirators. It emphasizes the necessity of additional medical evaluations for specific environments and highlights the significance of ongoing training and practice for effective respirator use in emergency situations.
