New Hire Orientation – Construction: Hazard Communications

This course provides an in-depth understanding of Hazard Communication Standards (HCS) and their evolution into the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). Participants will learn about the importance of effectively communicating chemical hazards in the workplace, the types of hazardous chemicals they may encounter, and the necessary safety measures to manage these risks. The course covers proper storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response procedures, and the significance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labeling. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to ensure a safe work environment through comprehensive hazard communication and adherence to permissible exposure limits (PELs).
