Defining Purpose in Collaborative Work

In most situations, purpose is expressed as clear goals or opportunities, and this gives meaning to collaboration. However, in order to define your group’s purpose, your group needs to establish its commitment. This course is part of the Collaborative Work Pocketbook series, a series that provides tips and techniques to make connections, combine talent and skills, and optimize outcomes during collaboration. In this course, you’ll learn ways to establish commitment in collaborative work. You’ll also explore ways to define goals by identifying sources of evidence and assessing your goals with the ASPECT test. Finally, you’ll learn how to create opportunities. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to identify how your goals and opportunities function to define your collaborative group’s purpose.
