Our LGBTQ in the Workplace: 03. Supporting a Transitioning Coworker course explores how to be an ally at work when a coworker transitions. Transitioning is a big life change and it comes with its own unique risks and challenges. That’s why it’s essential, as coworkers and human beings, to support our colleagues through this important moment. In this course, we will explore what you should expect to change in your workplace when a coworker transitions, including what kind of accommodations to anticipate when it comes to company policy and plans. We will also discuss what information is private and what types of questions are inappropriate to ask. Finally, we will provide tips on how to be an ally and what you can do to be supportive of your coworker. This elearning course includes a video presentation, downloadable student material, and concludes with a short quiz to test your knowledge.
