Mentoring: 04. Making a Mentoring Agreement

An important part of a successful mentoring program is the mentoring agreement. In this elearning course, Making a Mentoring Agreement, we will review the purpose of this document and how to create one. The course will cover the eight steps to creating an agreement: Goals, Time Frame, Frequency, When/Where, Checkpoints, Confidentiality, Formal Wrap Up and Signatures. We’ll also cover the importance of ensuring the mentor and mentee understand and are comfortable with the mentoring agreement. You will learn why this document should be shared with the mentoring committee and why it can serve as a valuable reference if the participants experience a disagreement.
