Getting Paid: Understanding the U.S. Tax System

No one likes to pay taxes, but understanding their purpose and importance to society can help make it more bearable. In our Understanding the U.S. Tax System course we will discuss why the government needs money and some of the things that tax revenues pay for. We will review federal, state, county and city taxes, look at what each of the levels of government is responsible for and how they use your tax money. Finally, we examine a variety of tax types and discuss how each of them can affect you and your income.
