Effective Online Discussions

This course examines how to develop and use online discussions as a class teaching tool that helps to facilitate communication and share information. The comprehensive course outlines the benefits of online discussions and demonstrates how to incorporate them into your teaching toolkit. You will learn how to work with popular online discussion platforms, such as Blackboard, Desire2Learn, Facebook, Blogger, and Ning. The course also shows you how to work with collaboration resources, such as Google Docs, to provide course assets and documents. You’ll discover how to build and maintain an inclusive and respectful online community, as well as how to encourage dialogue and feedback. The course is approximately 2 hours in length and features audio and video narration for an engaging experience.
