Searching the Web: Advanced

This course will teach you to make more sophisticated web searches, so you can find the information you need without spending hours scrolling through page after page of results. The course starts by outlining some helpful strategies to keep in mind, before demonstrating practical methods to find pages that are no longer online, to search the ‚ÄúInvisible Web”, and much more. It touches on subjects like browser-based search tools, shared bookmarking, and tips for searching specialized websites. It also offers useful advice on how to evaluate the safety and quality of a website.
The course takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete. It consists of a series of short, narrated videos that use screen recordings to show you exactly where to locate the tools and options you need.
